VOKI #2 – WITH VOICE

This is my Voki number 2. This one has my voice in it.

This Voki shows I like girly things, like flowers and shows my hairstyle and colour, eye colour and what I look like. I decided to say “hi” in my Voki as I think it shows I am friendly person.

To see my review on the Voki software read my previous post named ‘Voki’ which explains my experience with the Voki software.

MARVEL SUPERHERO CREATOR

I used the software ‘Marvel – Creator Your Own Superhero,’ to create, as the title suggests, my very own superhero.

Marvel Superhero CreatorI decided to depict my physical attributes; hair and hair colour, eye colour, and facial features.

If I was a superhero I would want to have magic powers that would come out of my hands. You can see this by looking at my avatar.

Just by looking at my avatar you can tell I like the colour purple.

I liked the software that Marvel has created. The only thing I found a bit difficult was downloading the superhero. I could download it but couldn’t find it in my ‘download’ folder once it was downloaded. I ended up screen-shotting it. Apart from that difficulty I found the software easy to use. It was a little time consuming however there were lots of different options to choose from and the end result looks good. If I could improve the software I would suggest being able to change the skin colour. I don’t like how it turned out blue.

NAAVI AVATAR MAKER

I use the Naavi Avatar Maker software to make an avatar (Pandora,) like in the movie Avatar. I really, really liked the software. It made making an really avatar enjoyable. There were heaps and heaps of choices to choose from and none of them cost anything. The software allowed you to put multiple pieces of clothing on at the same time (i.e. two necklaces) which I liked and it was pretty easy to work out how to use. Another thing I was how you didn’t have to make an account.

If I had to improve the software in some way I would request more choice in hair colours (although there was quite a few to choose from.) I think that the shade of brown I chose for my hair was the closest shade to my hair however was still a fair bit off.

Naavi Avatar MakerWhen making my avatar I chose the biggest hair I could find to portray my big, curly hair.

I made myself wear a flowing skirt as I think it is feminine and calm. Two traits of my personality.

I also made myself wear a lot of jewellery. I would describe myself as a jewellery person and I love shopping online for earrings and browsing fashion (in general) and jewellery trends.

I made myself wear the colour purple as it was my favourite colour out all the colours I could choose from.

When picking the face paint for my face I chose the simplest pattern. I don’t like things that are too busy. For the exact same reason I chose a white background for my Pandora to be standing against.

I am really happy with how my avatar turned out and think it says a lot about me as a person.

LEGO AVATAR

I used the software on the sidebar named ‘Lego Avatar’ to create a Lego version of myself.

I created myself with my hair up this time. I have a lot of hair and if can sometimes get in the way or annoy me a little bit. I wear my hair up most of the time so I thought that this would be a good way to portray myself as a Lego character.

In this avatar I am on the beach holding an ice-cream. I love summer and love being around water. I also really like ice-cream and thought that these two ‘likes’ go hand in hand.

I found the Lego software to be really basic. It was my least favourite software out of all the software I used. I liked the idea and thinking behind making a Lego person however thought that there was a lack of choice to create your avatar and that the backgrounds were blurry.

BULD YOURSELF WILD

I made another avatar using the software ‘Build Yourself Wild.’ I thought that the software on this website was the easiest to use yet. The software enabled you to create yourself, using a number of choices, and then make yourself ‘wild’  if you wish. If I could improve the software I would give more eye colours to choose from a create a function where height could be manipulated.

Build Yourself WildI added to my avatar my eyes. I thought that the eyes give away a bit of my identity without giving away too much. As they say, ‘eyes are the window to your soul.’ I am happy with the end product and my choice to use my eyes. The eyes are unique in every individual and the first thing someone normally notices about you is your eyes.

I decided to make myself wear white and purple. I like these two colours and I thought the white crisps up the purple. I didn’t want to appear too dark as this is not an aspect of my personality.

Once again, I chose to depict my big, curly hair. It is one of my most unique features.

I decided to make myself have an open-mouthed smile in this avatar. I like to think of myself as a generally happy person and I try to come across this way to others.

I decided not to make myself ‘wild.’ I am a pretty tame and calm person and I don’t feel although I need to depict myself in a ‘wild’ way.

Overall, I liked this website for making avatars and I am really happy with the end product. I like how the software adds a background in for you as well as your name.

VOKI

The first avatar I made was a Voki avatar. I tried to make it as accurate as possible.

Voki 1 Firstly, I tried to show my big, curly hair by using the hairstyle showed.  It was the most accurate to my hair out of all the possible selections.

I also tried to show my green/grey/god-knows-what-color-they-are eyes by using a certain colour I selected in the Voki browser. It took a bit of time to find a colour that was suitable but once I did I was happy with my choice.

I decided to show that I live in a suburban area and close to the city by the background I chose – the city. I think the background brings out the colour in my eyes, lips and top colour. Perhaps this shows I am very observant as well as very particular in the way I present my work.

I picked the player colour as white as I feel it looks clean and sophisticated.

I decided to pick neutral coloured makeup as I feel it shows that I don’t wear much make-up and I am happy with my natural self.

The Voki software was good. I found it, overall, easy to navigate and that it made good-quality avatars. On a more negative note, Voki limited certain features to Voki Classroom and I found it both frustrating and annoying. In order to use these restricted features I had to screenshot my Voki and therefore couldn’t publish it or give it a voice. I made another Voki so I could give it a voice however I feel it is not as accurate in portraying ‘me’ as this avatar is.
